BU in Spring
DAR has always tried keeping up with trends, trying to be hip, flashy, and playful. With the Spring reel, I wanted to slow things down just as we enter the Summer break where the campus will be a lot more quiet, things move at a slower pace (for a good amount of people anyway). Instead of the seasonal videos that DAR usually does, I wanted to focus on photography to really slow things down, to an almost uncomfortable amount, and really let the photos sink in one by one.

Sculptures and Art Installations
DAR's social platform has showcased iconic spots and locations around campus in the past to recapture the attention as well as nostalgia from the alumni network. A new idea I had was to instead showcase the sculptures and art installations that are often overlooked, while also bringing information about them to the audience that might not have been apparent before. This includes information such as Explosions in front of Metcalf Science center being a representation of particles colliding, or the sculpture Free At Last, commonly referred to as the doves on Marsh Plaza actually being a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King and his iconic speech.

BU Then and Now
Another project for DAR aiming to engage more with alumni. This video is aimed at the older crowd, directly contrasting footage of BU today versus BU decades ago with washed out photos and faded film. Current footage was filmed by my colleague Emma French, and older photos were possible to find thanks to BU photography archives as well as BU Today articles.
